(KWNO)-A homeless woman from Alabama staying with a Winona couple allegedly stole $13,000 worth of electronics and jewelry from their home. A police spokesperson said the 44-year-old woman lived with the couple from December 12, 2023 to January 14, 2024 when they asked her to leave. The homeowners subsequently noticed an Apple watch was missing, along with several items of jewelry and other electronics. They reported the theft to Winona Police on Wednesday. Police don’t know if the homeless woman, who’s from Talladega, AL, is still in the Winona area. Investigators are monitoring pawn shops to see if any of the items turn up and searching for the woman to question her.
