(KWMN)- The Winona Senior High School boys Hockey team will start their section tournament later tonight in La Crescent, taking on the La Crescent-Hokah Lancers in round one.
The Winhawks finished their season at 16-7-1, their first winning season since 2009. That was good enough for a 6-seed in the section 1A tournament. La Crescent is the 3-seed.
Puck drop is slated for 7:00 p.m. tonight from the La Crescent community arena, winner heads to the section semifinals.
Head coach for the Winhawk boys, Marty Raymond, joined the WSN on Upon Further Review to discuss the season, turning around the program, and the impending matchup.
