(KWNO)-Someone attempted to break into the old Ferrara Candy Company building in Winona. The building is now owned by Midwest Co-Pack, a food process manufacturer and packaging company. According to a Winona Police spokesperson, late Monday night someone allegedly broke into the building through a roof access point. Shortly after breaking in an alarm was triggered and the person ran away. Police responded to the alarm, but company officials did not file a complaint at that time because nothing appeared to be missing. Video surveillance cameras were subsequently reviewed, and officers went back to the building on Tuesday afternoon to investigate. The video appears to show a white male breaking into the building, though the spokesperson said identifying the person will be difficult because he was wearing a mask that covered most of his face.
