WAPS students will start late, have two-day spring break in 24-25

(KWNO)-The calendar for Winona Area Public Schools for the 2024-2025 academic year will be a little different. Due to the ongoing geothermal project at Washington-Kosciusko and Jefferson Elementary Schools the start of the 24-25 school year will be delayed by one week. The WAPS School Board recently approved the new school calendar.

The first day of school will be September 10, 2024 for all students but incoming fifth graders, ninth graders and new ALC students will have orientation on September 9. Spring break will be shortened to two days, March 13 and 14, 2025. The school board also previously approved an adjustment to the 2023-2024 calendar to end the school year a week earlier for early childhood and elementary students only.
