(KWNO)-University of Wisconsin-La Crosse chancellor Joe Gow has been fired after the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents became aware of porn videos featuring Gow and his wife.
Gow and his wife, Carmen Wilson, used the moniker “Sexy Happy Couple” on porn websites and also published two books about their experiences in the adult film industry. Gow was fired Wednesday, UW Board of Regents President Karen Walsh calling Gow’s actions alarming and disgusting and “inconsistent with his role as chancellor.”
Gow and Wilson have six videos on the website OnlyFans that feature adult film stars and appear on at least two other porn websites. Gow told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the videos and books are part of his private life and fall within his right to free speech under the First Amendment.
Gow was reprimanded five years ago when he invited a porn actress to speak at UW-L as part of a event promoting free speech. UW System President Ray Cross said Gow showed poor judgement in that case.
