(KWNO)-A 17-year-old is under arrest for arson after allegedly starting a fire at the Sparta Walmart. Fire crews responded to the store on Tuesday morning, finding an active fire and evacuating the building. Firefighters put out the fire and according to a post on the Sparta Police Facebook page the suspect was quickly identified. The person was booked into the Monroe County Jail on charges including arson and recklessly endangering safety. According to the post, preliminary damage estimates are more than $7 million and Walmart will remain closed for at least several days.
