Free infant CPR & choking class at Winona Health

By Jason Melillo Dec 25, 2023 | 6:04 AM

(KWNO)-Winona Health’s next free one-hour Infant CPR & Choking Class, led by Helen Bagshaw, CCRN, will be Tuesday, January 9 from 6 to 7 p.m. on the hospital 3rd floor at Winona Health, 855 Mankato Avenue, Winona.

It’s essential for any caregiver spending time with or caring for a baby, including parents, grandparents and babysitters, to take a class in infant CPR.

Unintentional choking and suffocation are the primary causes of injury deaths in infants under age one. This class is designed to empower all caregivers, including experienced parents, by providing life-saving techniques. Even those who have taken a course before are encouraged to take a refresher class to ensure they stay current.
