(KWNO)-One person is in custody after allegedly driving through a locked gate and onto the tarmac at the La Crosse Airport and then boarding a private plane. Law enforcement arrived and blocked the plane from leaving and staff on the jet got out unharmed. The person, who hasn’t been identified, was taken into custody. La Crosse Regional Airport Director Ian Turner stated “staff responded as they have been trained to handle disturbances that could occur on site and were able to maintain the safety procedures for passengers and visitors to the airport.” Flights continued as scheduled.
