(KWNO)-Minnesota State College Southeast hosted an event on Wednesday aiming to get more girls and young women interested in the trades. Women Exploring Trades, Technology and Transportation is a collaboration between MSC-Southeast and the National Science Foundation. High school girls in grades 10-12 explored career options in automotive technology, CNC machining, construction technology and other fields. According to a press release more than 60 girls from 12 area high schools in southeast Minnesota and western Wisconsin were scheduled to attend the event at the Winona campus. They participated in hands-on training in three career areas of their choosing.
