(KWNO)-Two people were rescued from the roof of a burning house in Winona on Tuesday morning. Fire crews responded to a house in the 150 block of East Sanborn Street around 8:40 a.m. and saw smoke and flames coming from an enclosed porch.
Two residents crawled out of a window and onto the porch roof because the stairwell was blocked by the fire. Firefighters set up ladders and got the people down safely. The fire was put out and firefighters also rescued two dogs and several cats from the house. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
