(KWNO)-A man who claims someone tried to run him over was ultimately arrested for badgering 911 operators. Police were called to 900 block of Frontenac Drive on Tuesday night. 61-year-old Kenneth Dean Sjarpe said he got into an argument with another man who tried to run Sjapre over as the man left the area in his vehicle.
Winona Police and Winona County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped the vehicle near Dakota. The driver denied trying to run Sjarpe over and officers let the driver go. Over the course of the next three hours Sjarpe called 911 ten times, according to a statement by the police. He was apparently upset about the way the incident was handled and threatened to hurt the the man from the original call. Sjarpe also swore at 911 dispatchers. Officers found Sjarpe and told him to stop calling the emergency line, but he continued to do so and was arrested for improper use of 911.
