(KWNO)-A screenshot of a social media post showing a gun and backpack was circulating among students in the Lewiston-Altura school district on Monday night. The Lewiston Police Department immediately reached out to school officials, and it turned out the post originated in Lewiston, Maine. Police in that city were already investigating the incident and had identified the poster. Lewiston, Minnesota Police Chief Scott Yeiter said in a Facebook post there is no threat to Lewiston-Altura Schools and thanked students for sharing the picture with their parents and making law enforcement aware of the post.
