(KWNO)-A man is accused of intentionally setting dozens of fires in the Black River Falls area. The Jackson County District Attorney’s Office accuses 46-year-old Daniel Johnson of starting more than 50 fires between April and August, the largest of which covered about 16 acres. A Madison, WI television station reports Johnson was arrested August 17 after a man who looked like him was spotted on a surveillance camera prior to a report of a fire in the vicinity. In an interview with sheriff’s investigators Johnson admitted to hitting gasoline-soaked tennis balls into the air, but also denied setting any “big fires.” His cash bond was set at $10,000 dollars during a Monday court appearance.
