(KWNO)-A special education cooperative might be aiming to buy the Winona Mall. The Hiawatha Valley Education District serves 12 school districts in southeastern Minnesota including Rushford-Peterson. A post on the R-P School District Facebook page says Hiawatha Valley Education District is proposing to purchase the Winona Mall and renovate it into a central site to deliver special education services to member districts. Rushford-Peterson School District will hold a special meeting on August 28th to vote on the proposal. All 12 member districts will have to approve the plan for it to move forward, according to the post.
