(KWNO)-A Wisconsin hunter is losing their license for three years after illegally shooting a buck during archery season. An investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources determining the Coon Valley hunter used illegal bait to shoot the deer with a rifle and also used a relative’s license to hunt. The person initially told wardens the deer was killed legally using a crossbow. The La Crosse County District Attorney’s office charged the person with hunting deer during the closed season and they were convicted under a plea deal in June.
