Residents angry about dollar store coming to Trempealeau

(KWNO)-The Trempealeau Planning Commission gave its preliminary approval for a Dollar General store in the Wisconsin village and there’s blowback on social media. One poster saying it will “totally change the feel of our little town” and another writing “this absolutely ruins the experience in the village and town and is a terrible idea.”

Village officials responded to some of the negative comments by saying, “we will be holding Dollar General accountable for maintaining the exterior appearance of their store. Our focus will be on ensuring that there is no accumulation of refuse in the parking lot or any items stored behind the building that might have a negative impact on the views from the nearby bike trail.” Dollar General already has a location in Galesville.
