(KWNO)-A team spelling bee competition will raise money for kids to buy school supplies and clothes. The Winona County nonprofit Ready Set School will host the event at Peter’s Biergarten on Sunday at 1 p.m. Teams of up to four people can compete for $20. All proceeds will assist qualifying families throughout the county. Peter’s Biergarten and Blooming Grounds Coffee House will donate a portion of their proceeds to the cause. Ready Set School will distribute $60 vouchers to qualifying students. The National Retail Foundation estimates the cost of school supplies to be about $117 per child.
