(KWNO)-Members of the Bonanzas to Oshkosh flight group will stop in Winona on Friday. The group is made up of about 100 Beechcraft Bonanzas and Barons and some of those planes will be at the Winona Airport before flying to La Crosse and then on to the Oshkosh Airshow.
The public is invited to come to Winona Airport, check out the planes and watch them fly a few formation passes. George Bolin with WinAir says they’ll probably start flying at 2:00 p.m. on Friday but he recommends getting to the airport around 1:30 p.m. to get a spot and bringing a chair or blanket to sit on. Bonanzas to Oshkosh started in 1990 as a way for pilots traveling to the Oshkosh Airshow to ensure they could camp together when they arrived. The group has stopped in Winona for the last several years.
