(KWNO)-A team from MSC Southeast is the Project MFG National Advanced Manufacturing Champion. The competition promotes careers in manufacturing and teams have to demonstrate proficiency in machining, programming, welding, and metrology as well as teamwork, problem solving, time management, and cost tracking. Southeast Tech was one of four teams vying for the $100,000 prize at the ‘Clash of Trades’ national championship at Greenville Technical College in South Carolina. The members of the winning team are:
- Austyn Warren (Dakota, MN), programmer
- Ivey Wadman Vehrenkamp (Ettrick, WI), CNC machinist
- Bradley Bishop (Ettrick, WI), manual machinist
- Ellery Kiesel (Winona, MN), welder
Project MFG aims to develop new talent for the U.S. manufacturing industry. Its various competitions contribute to training new generations of skilled trade professionals.
