Visit Winona Tourism Awards handed out

(KWNO)-Two local businesses were recognized at the Visit Winona Tourism Awards. Thousands of online votes were cast to highlight some of the best hospitality businesses in Winona.

Bluff Country Co-op won the Hidden Gem award. The community owned grocery store and deli supports local and organic farmers and promotes food and environmental integrity.

Blue Herron Coffeehouse won the People’s Choice award. Blue Herron strives to be a gathering place for artists and local growers and serves made-from-scratch food. The coffeehouse opened in 1998 and is now located downtown.

Visit Winona’s partnership committee also awarded Prairie Island Campground with the Partnership Excellence Award, recognizing its effort to connect the community to the outdoors. Prairie Island Campground offers the Campfire Concert Series and food truck events, environmental education programming, holiday activities, and even yoga.
