(KWNO)-Minnesota nurses are continuing a sit-in outside the Governor’s Office. The Minnesota Nurses Association is trying to bring awareness to what they say is blackmail of the legislature by Mayo Clinic.
Mayo is threatening to stop investing billions of dollars in state projects if language in the ‘Keeping Nurses at the Bedside Act’ isn’t changed. The bill gives nurses and other hospital staff more autonomy in creating schedules which they say will reduce burnout and improve patient care. Mayo wants its Minnesota facilities to be exempt.
