Large Fire at Mississippi Welders Supply Over the Weekend

(KWNO)- On Saturday, February 4, at 11:31 a.m. Goodview Fire was paged to Mississippi Welders Supply after an employee called 911 to report a propane fire.

According to a press release from Goodview Fire and Rescue, when the first fire units arrived on scene, there was heavy fire on the backside of the building.

Winona County officials said that flames could be seen, and explosions heard from responding officers and neighbors around the area.

Goodview Fire and Rescue say that large amounts of water were used to quickly extinguish the fire.

One employee suffered minor injuries and was treated by the Winona Area Ambulance Service on scene. The immediate area was evacuated, and Winona County Sherriff’s say that they initially thought they would have to evacuate a larger area, however the quick work of those involved to extinguish the fire made it unnecessary to do so.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and the State Fire Marshall’s Office is assisting in the investigation.
