Winona State University Announces New Exercise Program for Cancer Survivors

(KWNO)- Winona State University announced, in conjunction with Gundersen Health Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, and Winona Health, they will offer a free customized exercise program for cancer survivors called Winona Survivors Unite in Exercise.

A 12-week program that intends to help cancer patients maintain or improve strength, endurance, flexibility and wellness following treatment.

If you have just completed treatment or have been a survivor for years, you could be eligible for the program. Participants must receive approval from the program director and their physician before beginning the program.

The 12-week session will begin February 7th, 2023, and enrollment is currently open.

Survivors will meet at 6:35-7:50 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the WSU Integrated Wellness Complex, room 13. Participants will work with WSU undergraduate students in the Movement Science Program.
