Winona Man Arrested for Domestic Assault

(KWNO)- The Winona County Sheriff’s Office was called out to a residence in the 27000 block of Cty Rd. 9 because of a domestic disturbance.

The caller told the Sheriff’s Office that Carter Briggs, 20 of Winona, was completely out of control. The Caller also stated that Briggs even bit another family member.

When Officers arrived, Briggs was being held down and spewing nonsense, says the Sheriff’s Office.

Victims and Witnesses claimed that Briggs was completely fine until dinner time when he began to go off the rails.

One victim, a woman, had a red mark on her cheek and a cut on the back of her hand, while another victim, a man, was noticeably cut up. Witnesses were also assaulted during the long altercation.

Briggs was taken to Winona Health.

He was charged with domestic assault-fear, domestic assault-harm, and 5th-degree assault. Those charges have since been dropped.
