Altra Federal Credit Union Announces Winners for Best Life Community Awards

(KWNO)- Altra Federal Credit Union announced their award winners for their Best Life Community Awards for 2022, in a press release.

Evergreen Elementary PTO, located in Holmen, WI, is the winner of the $10,000 Community Choice Award, which was determined by a popular vote through online voting.

Evergreen Elementary PTO’s mission is to help each child reach their full potential through quality education. The Organization strives to enrich the educational journey of every student, regardless of background or abilities, says the press release from Altra.

Employee Choice Winners, who each receive $5,000 include the La Crescent Area Healthy Community Partnership and HorseSense in La Crosse, WI.

Community Assistance Awards are also given by a panel of judges consisting of members from Altra’s Community Engagement, Advocacy and DEI committees. Those awards were given to multiple area institutions. La Crosse Citizen Advocacy, WisCorps and YWCA, all located in La Crosse, WI, Sparta Area Cancer Support in Sparta, WI, and Catholic Charities of Southern Minnesota located right here in Winona, MN. Each of these nonprofits will receive $5,000.

More nonprofits were selected to receive a $2,500 donation that include, Front and Center Food Pantry in Eyota, MN, and WINN in La Crosse, WI.

Altra employees were rewarded based upon volunteerism with a $1,500 donation on their behalf to a nonprofit organization of their choice. Those nonprofits included, Freedom Honor Flight, UW-La Crosse Alumni Band Scholarship Fund, the Center for LGBTQ Connection and Cappella Performing Arts in La Crosse, WI and Clearwater Farm in Onalaska, WI.

According to the release, over 300 member-nominations were submitted and over 30 nonprofits submitted supplemental applications as part of the process.
