(KWNO)-Officers responded to a call from the McDonald’s restaurant on the 150 block of Main Street at 10:23 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6th.
Kesala Ann Morrell, 50, of Winona, was arrested.
A restaurant employee reported that Morrell went through the drive-through and fell asleep.
The employee stated they asked Morrell to move her vehicle from the drive-through line so other vehicles could get through as her car was holding up the line.
Morrell complied, but then fell asleep in the vehicle while in front of the restaurant.
The employee went to check on Morrell because she was asleep in the parked vehicle, noticed she appeared to be intoxicated, and called the police.
Officers arrived and noted she was still in the driver’s seat and appeared intoxicated; Morrell displayed slow movement, droopy eyelids, bloodshot watery eyes, and an odor of alcohol coming from her person
Based upon their observations of Morrell’s behavior, the officers believed that she was too intoxicated to perform any balance test.
She was subsequently arrested and brought to the jail, where she agreed to do the state-certified DMT (Data Master Test); the test showed a result of 0.33%.
Morrell is currently in custody for second-degree DWI (driving while intoxicated).
