(KWNO)-Due to inflation and other economic pressures, food banks are experiencing increased demand across Minnesota this year. For this reason, Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union is once again inviting Winonans to donate their loose change to support hunger relief efforts throughout the state.
This year, every donation made in Winona will support the Channel One Regional Food Bank.
As a show of their commitment to stamping out hunger in Minnesota, Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union will match donations up to $25,000 during this effort.
Within the past three years, Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union has contributed more than $130,000 to local food banks through its Coins for a Cause campaign.
From Monday, December 5th, through Friday, December 9th, area residents wishing to participate in the campaign may drop off their coins at participating Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union branch locations.
In appreciation of those participating in the event, all participating branches will hold special events on Friday, December 9th, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., where the first 25 people to donate that day will each receive a $10 gift card to Caribou Coffee.
