Winona Businesses Hosted Halloween Kids and Parents Expo

(KWNO)-The Kids and Parents Expo took place at Winona Middle School on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. An event meant to provide fun-filled quality time for families, the Kids and Parents Expo provided families an amazing opportunity to get more out of Halloween than a cute costume and some candy.

Participants connected with local vendors and businesses who offered entertaining activities and experiences for children of all ages.

More than 500 people came out for the Winona Indivisible 'Hands Off' rally Saturday at Windom Park. The gathering was part of a nationwide day of protest. A post on the Winona Indivisible Facebook page stated, "we sent a clear message to Elon Musk and Donald Trump to keep their hands off things that belong to the people!" An estimated 60,000 people attended a 'Hands Off' rally Saturday at the State Capitol in the St. Paul.

Two people are lucky to be alive after a drunk driving crash in Winona. It happened Saturday night near the intersection of 3rd Street and Mechanic Street. According to a Winona Police Spokesperson, 33-year-old Kyle Ostrander was speeding and rolled his vehicle. Officers arriving on the scene suspected Ostrander was intoxicated, and he was arrested. A passenger in the car suffered significant injuries from "deep lacerations on the head" but refused medical treatment. The spokesperson said the car was totaled and he "didn't know how nobody died."
