(KWNO)- The Winona Police Department will welcome a group of German police officers to Winona tomorrow, Sep. 21st at City Hall.
10 German police officers will be introduced followed by a meet and greet at the City Hall Council Chambers on the 21st at 11 a.m.
The Winona Police Department has been conducting this German American Police exchange program since 1994 and this will be the 8th visit to Winona for German Officers.
Sgt. Kevin Kearney, who happens to be retiring today, has been involved with the program since its inception and finds it to be a very unique opportunity for both American Police Officers and German Police Officers to learn about different ways of policing in different countries.
It also provides a unique opportunity for citizens in Winona to get a glimpse at what policing is like in different places of the world.
