(KWNO)- After Tuesday’s statewide partisan primary elections, the unofficial results have been tallied.

Results are based on the information given on the website of the Office of The Minnesota Secretary of State.

Incumbent candidates Gov. Tim Walz and Lt. Gov. Penny Flannigan will face off with Republican nominees Scott Jensen and Matt Birk in November’s election for Governor.

Jensen and Birk earned 89% of the Republican vote–over 288,000 votes in total.

Secretary of State Steve Simon will look to be re-elected after earning 72% of the Democratic vote. His opposition in November’s election will be Kim Crockett, who earned 63% of the Republican vote.

Incumbent Attorney General Keith Ellison will face off with Republican nominee, Jim Schultz, who won the Republican nomination with 52% of the votes.

In the primary for Congressional District 1, Republican Brad Finstad outdueled Jeremy Munson for the nod, earning 76% of the votes. Finstad will face the Democratic nominee in Jeff Ettinger in November.

In the special election to fill the void of Jim Hagedorn, who passed away in Feb. of this year, Brad Finstad snuck by Jeff Ettinger by 5,000 votes to fill the seat until the end of Haggedorn’s term. Finstad says the win gives him added momentum for the election to keep the spot in November.

In Winona County, County Commissioner and Treasurer held primary elections yesterday as well as a vote for Winona Area Public School Board  at-large members,

Leading the way for County Commissioner in District 2 is Dwayne Voegeli, earning just shy of 58% of the votes. Coming in second was Jerry Obliego at 32%, followed by Todd Frahm at 10%. It’s expected that Voegeli and Obliego will be on the ballot in November.

Nancy Denzer and Karl Sonneman, two members currently on the school board, are again leading the way after the primaries. Denzer totaled 33% of the vote while Sonneman acquired 23% of the vote. In November, two members will be elected.
