(KWNO)- The Hwy 43/61 roundabout officially opened this morning.
Construction crews worked Sunday night, into Monday morning to open the roundabout, the first of four that will be opened by November.
MnDOT is asking Winona’s motorists to be aware of the new traffic changes and continue to be on alert for changes in traffic throughout the construction.
After the roundabout opening, MnDOT hopes to also have East Lake Blvd open near the end of this week.
Over the next two weeks, most of the work will be done underground, constructing box culverts, water mains, and erosion control devices.
The project remains on schedule with its initial completion date of early November 2022.
