(KWNO)- Investigators with the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) contacted the Winona Police Department on Friday of last week to request their assistance with locating an adult male who was wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred in Minneapolis.
In a press release from the WPD, it’s stated that the suspect was wanted for “Attempted Murder/1st Degree Assualt and Felon in Possession. MPD believed the suspect was currently in Winona and possibly in the area of the 550 block of Main Street.
WPD obtained a search warrant and along with the Winona County Emergency Response Team as well as other police departments, served the warrant on the residence.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident and no injuries were reported.
The suspect was transported to the Winona County Jail where he is awaiting transport to the Hennepin County Detention Center.
According to the press release, WPD, Winona County Sheriff’s Office, St. Charles Police Department, Goodview Police Department, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Minneapolis Police Department, Rochester Police Department, Winona Fire Department, and Winona Area Ambulance service all assisted on the call.
