(KWMN)- Byron Buxton and Luis Arraez are the lone players selected to represent the Twins at the All-Star game in Los Angeles next week.

Both receive their first-ever All-Star Game selection as reserves.

Arraez, who some thought would get the starting honors, is leading the league in batting average at .348 and boasts a top-10 WAR. Arraez lost the starting spot to Valdimir Guerrero Jr. of the Blue Jays, who ranks ahead of Arraez in Homers and RBIs.

Buxton has been struggling when it comes to average but got the nod because of his 23 homers and 42 RBIs as well as his stellar play in the outfield.

The All-Star Game is set for Tuesday, July 19th at Dodger Stadium with the first pitch coming at 7:00 p.m. CST.
