Winona County Law Enforcement Agencies Remember Fallen Officers

WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-Members from Winona County’s law enforcement agencies remembered their fallen colleagues outside of the Winona County Law Enforcement Center on Wednesday. 

Along with the music, attendees heard a proclamation from Mayor Scott Sherman and a speech from Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose, who is a board member of the Minnesota Law Enforcement Memorial Association.  

Father Tim Biren of the St. Charles Catholic Church led attendees in prayer and song. Winona County Sheriff Ron Ganrude emceed the memorial.  

Three officers serving Winona County have died in the line of duty; Officer Matthew Hamilton, Investigator John Schnieder, and Trooper Ted Foss. Last year in the U.S. 616 federal, state, and local law enforcement officers were killed in the line of duty.
