WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-A Winona man was arrested after he reportedly rammed police vehicles with his SUV and led authorities on a brief pursuit.

Winona Police say officers were alerted to a vehicle parked on the lawn of the Winona County Courthouse around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. The vehicle then took off down Johnson St. and refused to stop for a pursuing officer, according to the report.  While on the phone with dispatch, the driver threatened to drive into people and parked vehicles, the report says. That caused the officer to terminate the pursuit out of concern for public safety, according to police.

Officers say the driver rammed into the back of a moving squad car after the terminated pursuit. After that, Police say he came back near the Winona County Law Enforcement Center but drove away after officers placed stop sticks in the road, police say.

Later on, officers reported the driver was eastbound on 4th St. and appeared to turn around after passing the Law Enforcement Center. Police say he then appeared to accelerate before he rammed into the back of a parked squad car parked on the south side of the building.

Police were able to arrest the suspect following the collision with the parked squad. No officers suffered injuries from the collisions.

Police identified the driver as 29-year-old Taylor J. Kujack. He was arrested on suspicion of fleeing, reckless driving, damage to property, leaving the scene of a traffic accident, and potentially driving under the influence pending blood test results. police say.
