LA CROSSE, Wis. (KWNO)-Authorities recovered the body of a UW-La Crosse student who had been missing since late February on Thursday.
Firefighters found the body of 25-year-old Hamud Faal in approximately 25 feet of water in the Mississippi River near the Division St. Boat landing, according to a statement from the City of La Crosse. He was last seen in the early morning hours of Feb. 20.
La Crosse police are continuing their investigation and are awaiting autopsy results, the statement reads. Authorities are offering their condolences to Faal’s family and friends.
