WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-The Minnesota Food Share March is underway.
Winona Volunteer Services (WVS) is once again participating in the statewide food drive.
“The Foodshare campaign allows us to collect food and cash during the whole month of March,” WVS Executive Director Sandra Burke told KWNO. “The what we collect locally, we’re able to get additional dollars from the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches.”
It’s the first of four major food drives WVS is holding this year. Along with encouraging donations, organizers are holding several events throughout the month to encourage community members to participate in the food drive.
Burke also encouraged local businesses and organizations to reach out to WVS if they’re interested in participating. The food drive runs through April 10.
