WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-The Habitat for Humanity in Winona has announced its next homeowner.

Jarreahea Webb and her teenage children will work with Habitat to build the organization’s 53rd home in the Winona area the east end of Winona. Community Engagement Coordinator Jesse Darst shared more about the family on KWNO’s In the Know Tuesday morning.

“They’ve been in town for about eight years living in an apartment. They really made a home for themselves here in Winona and they’re ready to settle down and have a permanent house,” Darst said.

Since moving to Winona, Jarreahea has completed her Certified Nurses Assistant training. Her daughter Aaliyah graduated high school and is preparing for college, and her son Mari is now 16 years old. She says, “Even though we have no family support here, we’ve managed to stay focused and apply ourselves.”

The family will volunteer time with habitat. The construction is set to begin when the ground thaws later this year.
