WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-A Minnesota City man who was struck by a vehicle while crossing Broadway St. earlier this month has died from his injuries.
The obituary for 79-year-old Michael J. Maher says he passed away on Feb. 16 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. His passing came two weeks after he was struck.
Maher was hit while crossing Broadway in the area of Zumbro St. on Feb. 2. Police say the vehicle-pedestrian crash appeared to have happened outside of the crosswalk.
Maher was the second pedestrian to be struck by a vehicle on Broadway St. This year. Last month, a Winona State student suffered serious injuries after being hit while crossing Broadway in the Washington St. crosswalk.
