Community Health Needs Survey Distributed

By TJ Feb 7, 2022 | 11:15 AM

WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-The Winona County Community Health Needs Assessment has been sent to various residents in Winona County.

Live Well Winona’s Venessa Southworth encourages recipients of the survey to fill it out. She says the results from the 71-question survey inform initiatives health leaders in the county focus on.

“The results will be pulled together to identify what some of the health risks in our community and then we look at ways that we can impact those and improve those,” Southworth said.

Southworth says the survey goes out every three years. She said the 2019 assessment showed the community health needs centered around mental health treatment.

“We’ve been working on ways to address that in the community,” Southworth said. “We would anticipate that we would see some similar needs coming through in this year’s community health needs assessment.”

The survey is administered by a third party, and responses are anonymous. Following completion of the survey process, all community residents are invited to participate in listening sessions virtually or in-person to share their thoughts on the results along with ideas they have for a healthier Winona County.

To receive updates about listening sessions, send your name and email address to  vanessa.southworth@livewellwinona.org. The survey is a collaborative effort between Live Well Winona and Winona Health.
