(KWNO)-The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Winona area.
“A Winter Weather Advisory means conditions are expected to cause significant inconvenience and maybe hazardous so you should use caution,” said Winona County Emergency Management Director Ben Klinger.
It begins at 9 p.m. Tuesday and ends at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Meteorologists predict a trace to two inches of snow could fall in Winona Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Forecasters say strong wind gusts between 40 and 50 mph could cause blowing and drifting snow which could spawn localized white-out conditions in unsheltered areas. Visibility is expected to be reduced to a quarter-mile in areas impacted by blowing snow.
