Winona Resident Falls Through Ice in Northern MN

BREEZY POINT, Minn. (KWNO)-A Winona resident was able to escape after they fell through the ice in northern Minnesota.  

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the report of multiple snowmobiles falling through the ice on Pelican Lake Wednesday evening. Sleds operated by 48-year-old Tracy Hale, 58-year-old Julie Hale age 58 of Grand Meadow, Minn., and 21-year-old Cole Hale of Riceville, Iowa had fallen into 4-6 feet of water, authorities say.  

No injuries were reported as all parties were able to pull themselves out of the lake. Officials placed thin ice signs in the area after responding to the incident.
