WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-Merchants Bank’s 33rd annual 10 Days of Giving Food Drive that benefits the Winona Volunteer Services food shelf continues this weekend with three events.
On Saturday there will be a drive-through Pack the Bus event from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the downtown Merchants Bank parking lot.
“People can bring their cash or food donation to that parking lot and volunteers will pack a bus and they want to fill it be it with food or cash,” Winona Volunteer Services Executive Director Sandra Burke said. “That defiantly benefits directly being able to provide food for people in need.”
Two more events are slated for Sunday. The first is Apps and Taps starting at 10 a.m. at Port 507.
The event features drink specials and food from the Ground Round and Sliced during the Vikings game. Admission is a canned food item or cash donation to the food drive.
10 Days of Giving Co-Chair Jen Welch says if football isn’t your thing on Sunday there’s also the Holiday Concert for the Hungry. The concert beings at 2 p.m. on Winona State’s campus.
“We’re partnering up again with the faculty at WSU for their holiday concert. Admission is a canned food item or cash donation. It’s a great way to get into the holiday spirit,” said Welch.
