WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-Winona Health has become the latest health entity to offer a COVID-19 vaccine incentive program.
President/CEO Rachelle Schultz says they have partnered with Severson and Kwik Trip to incentivize first-time vaccinations.
“With their first vaccination they can get a $50 gift card and with the second one they can get another $50 gift card,” said Schultz.
Schultz says those who get the one-shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine will get two $50 gift cards. She said Winona Health recently received a grant to fund the program.
“Hopefully that incentive will encourage a few more people or maybe a lot more people to get in the door and get that vaccination,” Schultz said.
Schultz hopes to have the incentive program up and running this week.
COVID-19 shots are available for free on a walk-in basis at Winona Health’s Parkview Office Building on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Winona County Public Health is also offering a $50 incentive for residents who get their first COVID-19 vaccine.
62% of Winona County residents ages five and older have gotten at least one COVID-19 vaccine. That compares to 68.1% of that age group with at least one shot statewide.
