WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-A new centerpiece will light up downtown Winona during the holiday season.
Auto body students at MSC Southeast completed the construction of a 14-foot-tall Christmas tree last month. Winona Main Street Program Manager Ben Strand tells KWNO that main street committee members and volunteers will assemble 80 stans of 9-foot garland to the tree that will make the structure 17 feet tall.
Strand welcomes the community to attend the tree lighting ceremony on Nov. 18 at Peter’s Biergarten. Strand says there will also be activities and possibly a visit by Santa at the lighting ceremony.
The tree will be up from Nov. 18 until the end of December.
