WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-The Winona City Council voted unanimously Monday to tab Engage Winona to help gather public feedback as the city develops its comprehensive plan.

Executive Director Marcia Ratliff laid out Engage Winona’s role in getting feedback to council members.

“On the front end, we’ll be working with the community to identify issues, ideas, and visions that are important to us as Winonans. Then as the plan is developed, we’ll bring it back to the community for ongoing feedback,” said Ratliff. “In each phase of our engagement, we’re working towards a plan that includes the views, visions, and ideas of a broad cross-section of the Winona community.

Ratliff said Engage Winona has done similar work in gathering resident feedback for the East End Neighborhood Project, Sustainability Plan engagement, and Alternative Response Team facilitation.

Ratliff says the goal is to use the feedback to form a plan that has the support of as many Winonans as possible. The cost of the contract is $48,000, which is budgeted as part of the comprehensive plan.
