(KWNO)-The Minnesota DNR’s Fall Color Finder map is out as the leaves begin to turn.
Areas in northern Minnesota are approaching the halfway mark of their peak. In southern Minnesota, the peak ranges between 10-25%.
This autumn follows a drought-ridden summer throughout most of the state. Winona County was rescued from that drought by a rainy July and the DNR’s Jennifer Teegarden tells Minnesota News Network that could mean more vibrant colors for the region.
“For the most part, we are anticipating more dull colors, except for potentially in southeast Minnesota which experienced a less severity of drought,” said Teegarden.
