Project FINE’s Welcoming Week Underway

WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-Welcoming Week in Winona is running until Sept. 19. 

Project FINE is hosting a series of events throughout the week to celebrate. Project FINE’s Executive Director Fatima Siad says the group’s mission is two-pronged.  

“We are focused on refugees and immigrants, providing educational programs and services for them,” said Siad. “On the other hand, we work with our partners, private sector, educational institutions, government and community at large, on eliminating fear between people, bringing us closer, building a welcoming and inclusive community for all and supporting our community.”  

Welcoming Week is an initiative started by Welcoming America to encourage people of all backgrounds to come together.
