WAPS Offering Students Free Breakfast and Lunch for Entire School Year

WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-Winona Area Public Schools is once again offering students free breakfast and lunch.  

The meals are available for WAPS students in grades k-12. The free meals will be in place throughout the school year and WAPS Communications Coordinator John Casper said the goal is to keep the free meals in place longer than that. 

“There are many people who are working to make that a permanent thing going forward, to make meals free for all students. We hope that is in the future,” said Casper during an interview on KWNO’s In the Know.  

The district is asking families to still fill out a free and reduced lunch form, regardless if they qualify for it or not. Casper says that allows WAPS to get funding.
