LA CROSSE, Wis. (KWNO)-Torrential rains and severe thunderstorms could hit the Winona area in the coming days.
The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center shows Winona as having a marginal chance of seeing severe thunderstorms between 1 and 9 p.m. Thursday. Chances of severe storms are higher in counties to the south and west of Winona.
Meteorologists say there is still a degree of uncertainty of the track the storms will travel. They’re also alerting residents to the potential of flash flooding caused by heavy rain.
As of Thursday morning, Winona could see between 2 and 4 inches of rainfall Thursday night through Saturday.
